At Advantage, keeping members informed is a priority. After all, Advantage is THEIR cooperative. Below is a list of our primary methods of communicating breaking news, promotions, industry updates, events and more. In addition, Advantage staff stays in direct contact with members, providing information pertinent to each member’s individual needs.

News Brief
A newsletter emailed every Tuesday containing Building Products market updates, sales offers and pricing updates, as well as event dates, a list of new members and a place for members to sell or inquire about lumberyard items for purchase. Special information from the Forest Products group and Marketing Department is also advertised here on occasion.

Conference Call
Scheduled Thursday mornings at 10:00 Eastern. Members call in and listen to brief market updates across all major product groups. Occasionally guest speakers from the industry also update members on important issues taking place within their companies or the industry.
 
Promotional Programs
POINT ME TO SUMMER in June, and RAKE IN THE POINTS in October. By purchasing select items over a three day period, members earn points to redeem for merchandise or convert to Show Bucks.

The AUGUST ROAD SHOW runs for a week every August and is a buying show available to members without having to leave their lumberyards. Suppliers advertise specials promoted in a catalog delivered directly to each member.

The HARDLINES HERALD is a catalog show held in the fall and specific to product specials provided through our Specialties Department.

NextGen
The NextGen program provides value to Advantage members through the education and professional development of their next generation of owners and key leaders. An annual conference, webinars and NextGen sessions at each Advantage event are scheduled to accommodate this program.
 
Annual Buying Show & Shareholders Meeting
The highlight of each year, a special buying show scheduled every February (or March) for members, suppliers and staff to meet one-on-one to discuss business, create sales and learn about new products. Special events enhance the building of these relationships. Advantage’s annual shareholders meeting, pool group, product group and committee meetings, seminars and NextGen sessions are held during this event.
 
Fall Planning Conference
The Fall Planning Conference is an important event where Advantage members gain access to the industry’s premier mills and manufacturers, plan purchasing strategies for the following year and build on their business relationships. Special sessions provide a clearer understanding of the value Advantage brings to each member. This conference has grown to include key Building Products suppliers and NextGen students in attendance.
 
Regional Pool Groups
A key reason why a cooperative works, regional pool groups gather members to combine purchasing and create a stronger buying position in each marketplace.
